Ratt never would consider their music metal. They called it hard rock. I never heard the term metal until 82. The whole of this style was called hard rock. I just enjoy the production value of these records. My whole collection is 90% real metal but it's fun to play this stuff. I thought there would be more complaints about the bands here. Somehow the pure commercialism of this rock turns people off. People do not like the dress also as it's some of the most over the top in music history. There is also a feeling that the music here is mediocre-sounding and that basic media blitz was a component in the record sales. Now it's almost underground as Motley Crue plays their tour and their fans come out. There are cds sold but maybe not as much as a band like Green Day.
