Quiet Riot, Mötley Crüe, Ratt, Twisted Sister and Stryper. Their music was a traditional heavy metal style combined with a glam rock look. The younger contemporaries who would eventually emerge, like Warrant and Poison, whose basic pop rock influenced hard rock musical style ultimately became synonymous with the glam metal look.Choose your favorite group then choose the top five LPs.

OK. So a lot of people are really happy that Grunge came and made Glam Metal old-hat. Maybe it depends how old you are and what memories are in the music. Well here you can see that yes, even after all these years, this stuff looks as strange as it did one week after Smells Like Teen Spirit came out. Parents were pretty flipped-out about Twisted Sister. Look at them with Dee in the front. Even now he's a little bit shocking, or stupid! I don't care, I'm in it for the music. More important now, THE SOUND. Yes these disks are not worth anything. They are everywhere including the trash. Did I say White Trash? Yes these were the trailer park soundtrack to the 80s. Call my style of music lowbrow. Again I don't care. I love what I love. The 80s were really cool for me and these darn disks are as close to a time machine as I can find. So come along with me, when was the last time you put on a headband? Get a six-pack of 12oz Bud and let's throw our fists in the air to The Crew! Yes I love Motley Crew and funny that DavidMahler spilled the beans because Dr. Feelgood is my number one choice. That record is recorded perfect. It has changed a lot of lives, some for the worst I'm sure. So here is my list. It's my list so go make your own if you know how. I'm no expert, but I know what I like when I hear it. Did you really think that you were done seeing pictures of Gene Loves Jezebel? Ha Ha! Not if you risk clicking one of my posts. Here is the list............................................1} Motley Crew..........Dr. Feelgood
2}Ratt..........Out Of The Cellar
3}Ratt..........Invasion Of Your Privacy
4}Quiet Riot..........Mental Health
5}Motley Crew..........Shout At The Devil

GOD! I hate Glam and hairmetal as a scene, especially Glam with all the drag stuff in it *shivers*. But for music, I have to say that White Snake, Motley Crue, Guns'N'Roses and Twisted Sister did pretty good job. Thats only four, but thats because they are only ones I am familiar with and honestly I do not care that much...

I think perhaps the question could be rephrased to:

What are the 5 least awful Glam Metal albums of all time?

Oh... and Queen was decidedly not a Glam Rock or Metal band.

Glam is just....terrible and stupid. It's just guys dressing up to play songs that all sound the same.

not a glam fan.....but Motley's Dr Feelgood is a strong record....

a cooler question for me woulda been your five favorite 80s pop metal records

I woulda gone with....

Pyromania - Def Leppard
Hysteria - Def Leppard
Slippery When wet - Bon Jovi
Dr Feelgood - Motley Crue
Blizard of Ozz - Ozzy

Thing is a lot of those records would be said to be Hard Rock and not metal, but I view those as 80s commercial metal records.

Well, the thing is that if whole glam scene is metal at all is controversial. Some people call it Glam/Hair Metal, some call it Glam Rock etc... Most hardcore metal fans wish that it never existed and deny it has anything to do with metal. It was obviously influenced by heavy metal, and some bands were more or less "metallish" by sound, but still they all belonged to same genre/scene. So wondering if the band is hard rock or metal is somewhat irrelevant, they still belong in the Glam/Hair group overall.

Hell, if I remember correctly earlier Bon Jovi is also considered as part of it.

I am not a glam fan either, but GnR have some awesome stuff which would be unfair to label as glam IMO.
