I've been reading up on the best way to get music to my D10 via USB. Will ASIO always be better?

Thanks!

I use it.

PC on ASIO >>> D10 DAC-Amp >>> Headphones

TBH, I didn't notice much difference compared to not using ASIO, but my system can handle it anyway so I left my setup on ASIO

Thanks for the response! I'm expecting my D10 within the next few days and I'll be testing out the different settings.

usb is not bad, but using optical or digital coax is significantly better. usb can only go up to 16bit/48KHz IIRC.

What kind of sound card do you use? I'll probably use USB but I still want to get a good soundcard eventually.

i don't use the sound card and have no clue what brand it is. it's probably one of those integrated ones. i use the optical out from my laptop. it's a HP pavilion TX1000.

CDs are only 16/44 right? So I would guess unless you are getting music from somewhere else (non CD rip that is) the USB disadvatage is moot isn't it? Not saying that's the case but just seems logical to me.
