Radiohead: Harry Patch (In Memory Of)

Radiohead just released a track for a small fee ($1.70 USD) in memory of the oldest living verified WWI soldier. Apparently he was somewhat of a UK icon. I just grabbed the track (Radiohead :: Harry Patch (In memory of)) and am giving it a listen now. Sublime, epic, soulful and personal. What else could one want from a Radiohead tribute track?

Awesomeness! Enough said.

All proceeds are to be donated to Royal British Legion.

I thought it was Harry PaRtch, the avant-garde composer who built instruments from junkyard scraps.

Great cause. As for the music though:

Sounds an awful lot like Radiohead trying to do Stars of the Lid.

I'm a SotL fan, but I sure hope this isn't any indication of the direction Radiohead is taking with their new album...
