Sleek Audio CT6 (Custom) Review (disappointed!!) - Page 2

post #16 of 25
One thing that should also be put into consideration (when comparing the $69 iM716 to the more expensive CT6) is that iM716 is never intended to be sold at such a low price. It was originally priced at $200 when first launched back in 2005 and has been discontinued since 2007. The low price is just a result of dealers trying to empty out their overstocked items.

@bam88
If you are referring to Fredrick's reviews, I just want to say that he is one of few reviewers that I consider to be trustworthy, much more than those on CNET where most people read their reviews from.

I do find his reviews pretty detailed and helpful. But with everything scoring so high, its hard for me to discern the good from the bad.

My Sleek Audios have a veiled sound to me, and it is not merely my sound preferences.

I'm going to have to go with the opinion that you chose the wrong configuration in regards to the ports. I remember when I put on the bass+ port but kept the treble neutral. Did not like it at all. I don't mind rolled off highs but it seemed like there was nothing up top and definitely no sparkle. Replaced the treble with the + port and it was night and day. Have kept that configuration ever since - about a year ago.

It is an unfortunate circumstance you are in. I imagine Sleek Audio can't change the configuration without destroying the custom encasement. At least they still have your mold so perhaps they can cut a deal. At the end of the day though, I see no fault on Sleek Audio's part and still firmly of the opinion they offer a quality sounding product. I find my SA6 is totally worth every penny I paid for them. And, no - I have zero affiliation with them. Just my unbiased opinion.

Drksuh,

We are sorry you are unhappy with the sound signature of the CT6s. One of the great things about the CT6s is they are tunable. Since you are still under warranty send us an email at info@sleek-audio.com and we will correct the problem for you. We have a better understanding in what you would like to hear so this problem shouldn't happen again.

Look at this graph. While graphs may not be everything, they reveal something. What does this graph suggest about how Sleek compares to its rivals?

Bilavideo, the graph is revealing. However, that was for neutral sound, and I would like an alteration to a +Treble. I have just sent the CT6s back to Sleek Audio today. I am eager to hear their modifications. I really want to love these IEMs after investing $500+. I am hopeful that the folks at Sleek Audio will be able to modify to a big improvement.

Brittany from JH Audio stated that ears are pretty much fully developed at the age of 16, so it's fine to get customs at age 16 and have them run for 3-4 years without a problem (however there might be as individual growth is different).
