It will indeed, and thanks to Nate, it's sounding better than ever. The Pass F5 is back to maybe status though. I'm quite looking forward to hearing the balanced JH13 as well.

Also Ken, I have Al's balanced HD800 that I'll be bringing to the meet. I'd imagine he'll bring the stock SE cable.

Done!

Assuming they win the beauty contest, I will be buying my HD800's from Drew because he is such a great vendor to support us. Plus, it just makes sense to ship them together with the Blue Dragon cable I will have to buy also.

P.S. Yes, I hope someone has a stock HD800 cable there.

ONE WEEK TO GO! Polish your tubes and connectors, pick your music, and get familiar with the smell of burning plastic.. it's almost time.

Gentlemen, start your PC's.

Thanks Ken.

Yep, Drew is a great guy and sponsor. Good have to have folks like him around.

I was planning to hook up the Blossom balanced amp (on loan from Moon Audio) to my Electrocompaniet ECD-1 balanced DAC (along with WA5). However, if anyone else wants to set it up with their balanced DAC or CDP, I would be happy to let you do that (as long your DAC won't be doing any archy-sparky on us).

Now... to choose some music.

Sorry, no stock hd800 cable for me... mine went balanced, then moved on.

I will have 3 single ended cables for my HD800:

- stock
- Moon Audio Blue Dragon
- APureSound v3

Also, Drew is sending some balanced Moon Audio cables so there will be plenty of cables for Ken and everyone else to choose from.

Can't say I'm too terribly interested in the hd800 atm...

And, looks like Stacy is shipping the Frankenphones - may do some surgery on the ground there as so many other things are in queue - going to be a rather mad dash to the end.

More status Sunday, but none of the amps are definitely out at this point, so, there will be a LOT of eval work for folks to do next weekend, and, sadly, not all of it pleasant.

Hey Al,

Trying to decode your message. [Perhaps you could write it as an equation.] Does this mean that you don't like the HD800's anymore or just that you are more interested in getting your amps to function properly than listening to the HD800's atm? Are you going to sell your HD800's?

Yeah for Frankenphones!

How about: Power of the Staxen be strong.

The hd800 need a better amp, which I don't at the moment... yet.

Actually, the eXstatA tube variant came up this morning, so....

Vulcan surgery tonight, and Raven is showing signs of life.

I don't think there is really a standard yet. He has a PO for 8ft balanced cables but they are not available yet. Jerry is making a balanced cable for us to use with the demos tomorrow. I assume he will use a (2) 3pin XLR's since this is the "standard" for balanced amps. Do you have a preference? I can ask him. I also have an APS 4pin XLR -> (2) 3pin XLR adapter I can bring.

Edit: I see that Jerry had his balanced JH13's set up at RMAF with an RSA Apache, which has (2)3pin XLR connectors so I am guessing that is the way he will go unless I ask him otherwise.
