The PS1000's bass emphasis disappeared after a portion of heavy burn-in on a powerful amp (circa 1.5W per channel @ 32 ohms). These headphones are what you let them be. Just set up a proper headphone rig. What I have now is smooth and fluid but I can change it just by ingerence in the source.
