Looking for the best sounding 6L6G valves / pics inside

I am looking for some quad of 6L6 kind of tubes for a while now and just wonder if anybody can share their experience of their sonics please. Not sure if I can generalize up here, but are they like any other type we familiar with, where we know that Mullards and Brimars are warm where Sylvania's are punchy and creamy.

I need good bass, detail, texture, silky top end, good soundstaging and balance overall. Which of those could manage that at most?

If you have other to mention, please do so.

THX

Sylvania 6L6G Black base, black glass

Sylvania 6L6GAY Brown base

Brimars 6L6G

Mullards 6l6g

Must it be 6L6? KT-66 and 350B are the best 6L6 tube types. I prefer 350B.

I kind of doubt that I can use 350B on my amp cos of pins, they do have 4 only...plus their insane price make me wonder if I ever can buy them.

For both 6l6 and 6v6 my favorite are the French Visseaux. Not terribly common in the
U.S., perhaps more so in Europe. Actually, I pretty much like everything they made. Very high quality, sort of like a French Western Electric!

Any source where I can find one to check.

Hmm, my have 8 pins and I bought them for 50 bucks. They are current production by Valve Art. It is not simply to buy them but it is possible. Stock Twin-Head has 6L6 tubes but 6L6 is a piece of...
KT-66 is simply better, more sophisticated construction of 6L6 tube. Look at TubeDeport.com; 6L6 and KT-66 are all together.

Ah, thanks man, I was looking at NOS WE 350B and one point or another started mistaking with 300B, pfff, but WE 350B arent cheap anyway.

If you compare them to NOS GEC KT88 or NOS 6550 Tung Sols, 350B modern production one I mean, whats the difference between them and would you still choose 350B?

Once again, thanks for your input and info.

350B Valve Art is rather bright, neutral and with huge soundstage. In some applications they are tremendous but sometimes to bright and harsh. KT-66, also by Valve Art (perfect NOS G.E.C. replica), is slightly darker more easy to use with other tubes or headphones etc., but without so big soundstage and without something special, what is very difficult to describe and very difficult to find due to other system conditioning. You have also many others good KT-66 tubes – Genalex Golden Lion Russian replica, also Russian KT-66 by Sovtek, Tung-Sol, Tesla and other types.

O.k. thanks for update, dont think I will be getting them, even for their low price, cos I do have great NOS Tung Sols 6550 for more clarity and detail, if need it, so, if I have to go KT66 route, I will be tracing NOS G.E.C. KT88 first. The stock KT88 in my amp are replica of Genalex PrimaLuna USA and I like them quite a lot with K1000.
Have you ever tried GEC KT88 or any other of them? Are they that good as man says they are?

I don’t use KT-88, so I know practically nothing about them, but GEC is very good, I am sure.
