Audio-GD Ref 1 vs Havana - Page 3

I'd get one of the top of line SACD CD player (Sony) if I have $1000 for converter like that.. I agree that over $1000 for a simple USB -> SPDIF is a total rip off.

You're absolutely welcome to do so. But you'll have to wait until I receive my new Ref1. The one I had is defective and was shipped back.

Well not everyone likes switching CDs. Some people (like myself) prefer to have your audio library all in one place which is where using a computer as source is advantageous. I will say though, I loved my Squeezebox rig with the extra power supply and custom DC cables. It's up for sale now but is a terrific rig and is untouchable in quality for even multitudes of its price to anything I've heard. (see my signature.) The Transporter costs quite a bit more and is one of the most awesome pieces of audio gear I've ever used, and works flawlessly.

Oh. don't get me wrong. I know what you mean. I have a same setup, even though I have far inferior transport mechanism. I just used that as an example.
