Baba O'Riley ~ Loved it when it first started to appear in techno mixes, but it won't go away!

I voted for Hotel California........I'll admit its a good tune, but it goes on too long with the same predictable progression over and over and the icing on the cake is the ridiculous arpeggio guitar solo at the fade out, HATE THAT ever since i was like 5

I was looking for "Teenage Wasteland" in the poll but didn't see it . . . I'll vote for Baba O'Riley instead.

Reminds me. . . Todd Snider has a routine when somebody yells "Freebird" from the crowd. He says "all right" and then he just plays the chords. And repeats them. Over and over and over. "This is what you people wanted," he says.

Once I saw Tally Hall (google them) pretend not to know Freebird, and then play it perfectly. With a marching band intruding on the SRO crowd.

So somebody vote for Freebird.

I never liked Free Bird so that gets my vote. That song is the epitome of boring.

What song is it you want to hear?

I love how it has become cliche to yell "Freebird" at any band when it is time for an encore. You just hope that they don't really play it.

I'm not sick of any of those 10 songs. I don't play them enough to tire of them and all 10 manage to make themselves into my play rotation at some point. If I was really sick of any of them they wouldn't get played.

Least favorite of the 10 would be Hotel California. It is catchy but there is nothing inspiring in the playing or the song structure. It's just soft rock to zone out to. Piano Man falls into the same category but manages to put in some emotion in the singing so it stays interesting.

I was actually listening to the Bohemian Rhapsody when I came into this thread. My vote is for hotel california. Just dont like the song enough to hear it to often.

Piano Man, I never go used to the sound. All the others I still dig.

All the songs in the list are OK to me, although if I must choose one I'd pick American Pie

I'm most sick of Lennon's Imagine.

Todd is hilarious! Thanx for that. Haven't voted yet, but it's probably going to be "Piano Man"…like "Hotel California", it's one of those songs you hear randomly in the strangest places. Early Billy Joel just makes me wanna escape.

In a rare explicit revelation of God's divine providence, the Almighty ensured that, with a little subtle contrivance, most of Rupert Holmes' "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" can be sung to the tune of "Hotel California."

Do-you like Pina Coladas?
Getting lost in the Rain
(getting lost in the rain)
And the taste of champagne?

Making love in the moonlight
In the dunes of the cape?
Then you're my own lovely lady.
Come with me and escape!

[Commence Satanic arpeggio guitar solo]

Amen. JL's "Imagine" is mostly just banal and gorge-risingly smug.
