how to fit tube into socket? 19J6

I was going to post this in the starving student thread, but I figured it might be useful for others in the future.

the completion of my P2P SSMH amp has been held up for a while due to the positioning and mounting of the 7 pin tube sockets. I finally finished mounting them, and I was about to complete the project...

however, I've never been able to get the tubes to fit into the sockets...

Is there something I am doing wrong? do I just have to push harder?

before I solder anything to them, I want to make sure that the tubes fit..

I haven't used any glue on them or anything, so thats not the problem.
And, I have another set of sockets that I can't fit the tubes into either.

You probably just have to push harder. When I made my first tube amp (also a MHSS) I was also convinced I was doing something wrong. Just make sure the tube pins are lined up with the socket's holes. You have to push a lot harder that any other type of socket I've ever used.

After several removal and insertions of the tubes, they will go in alot easier/smoother.

use some crc when first inserting
it helps

The only CRC I know is cyclic redundancy check

Not sure what you call it, it's a fine spray lubricant like WD-40
