What's your favorite track of each album?

Dont know if its placebo or pure madness,
but it seems to me that of 70% of albums I own I prefer track number 5,

Of course with the exception of continuous albums...

Who does the ordering of tracks in an album? Not the artist I suppose..

Wow! That's really weird. Now that you said it a noticed it happens a lot with my music.

Led Zeppelin IV: 5. Misty Mountain Hop
Amnesiac: 5. I Might Be Wrong
Hail To The Thief: 5. Go To Sleep
The Bedlam In Goliath: 5. Goliath
Horehound: 5. Treat Me Like Your Mother

There's more too...

I usually like the first track on side two:

Manfred Mann's Earth Band, The Good Earth, Earth Hymn
Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Nightingales & Bombers, Visionary Mountains
Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Roaring Silence, Road to Babylon
Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Angel Station, Angels at My Gate
Black Sabbath, Technical Ecstasy, All Moving Parts Stand Still
The Fixx, Reach the Beach, Reach the Beach
Shriekback, Oil + Gold, Nemesis
etc.

So...track 5.

Hmm, there are lots of good track 5s...

Led Zeppelin II: Heartbreaker
Pantera, Cowboys from Hell - Cemetary Gates
Nine Inch Nails, the Fragile - We're in This Together
Megadeth, Countdown to Extinction - Sweating Bullets
Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon - Money

this is craziness, but to each his own. Steve Vai always puts what he thinks is his best composition on track 7, thus the Steve Vai album "The Seventh Song". If you like any other songs better on his albums then you're wrong.

These go to 11.

I know this isn't a number per se, but I very often like the second to last tracks of many albums.

Actually I find that with Radiohead their 3rd track tends to be awesome...hence high and dry, subterranean homesick alien, the national anthem, sail to the moon, and nude. Although for every example of a number being great, you could find countless counter-examples.

Most time's the biggest selling single of any album ( not necessarily the best ) seems to be track 2.

EDIT :- The first 3 lp's I picked up, this was not the case ? So I could be just making it up
