Thread Starter
My friend introduced me to Erin McCarley the other day...and I'm completely in love with her new album. She's very talented and has a great voice. YouTube - Pitter Pat - Acoustic

Have you guys heard her before? What do you think?

Ooh pick me! I'm proud to admit I like her.

I commented on my opinion of the meaning of Pitter Pat on a different thread. I'll dig it up.

Does anyone else think this song is about contemplating abortion?

Quote:
"Tugged the moon into the ground
Turned this bedroom upside down tonight"
Yeah you can take that any way you want.

Quote:
"Took my faith and i breathed it out"
She wanted to be chaste, but was convinced otherwise

Quote:
"Then walked right through a cloud of flashing lights, bright lies."
I dunno to be honest.

Quote:
"Pain takes my heart's place
The love we made, we cant erase it, don't wanna face it"
She's pregnant. No beating around the bushes...

Quote:
"Pitter pat, the angel on my shoulder
Is haunting me tonight"
Her future child is consuming all her thoughts.

Quote:
"Tick tock, the clock is getting louder
Ready for me to decide"
She's contemplating whether to abort or not.

Quote:
"I've lost my sense of right and wrong
Well-justified my soul to carry on
It feels so damn good to write off the rules
But when a new day breaks, I'm left a fool I'm such a fool"
This is what would happen if she went through with it.

Quote:
"Pain takes my heart's place
But your sweet sweet love,
oh I can taste it but still can't face it"
The future "father" accepts it, but she still doesn't know what to do.

Quote:
"The sun is coming down on me
Could fate be so unkind?"
I dunno again. Maybe she has an epiphany?

Quote:
"Pain takes my heart's place
The love we made remains"
She decides not to abort.

I think its more about ending a relationship and its been a painful song for me to hear lately. For some reason the one leaving me likes it...whatever. I found the acoustic version as a free Amazon download and before that had never heard of her before. Very good tune, and I'd like to hear the other version.
