iMod IC query - piccolino, etc.

I've got a 5.5g iMod that I play at home through an ALO vcap dock, and on the road through the ALO LOD w/blackgate caps. I love the SQ the vcaps give, but can't deal with the three boxes and all the cables that would go with carrying the portable vcap dock when I travel.

Can the small LOD be improved upon? I've heard that a piccolino-cabled iMod LOD gives almost the SQ of the vcaps. Has anybody heard one, and is that true? Can the blackgates be improved upon in a small LOD? Help welcomed - thanks.

sorry to say that piccolino BG lods do not play in the same ballpark as VCAP or other similar film caps docks. the wire is awesome, but it cannot make something out of nothing.

check my sig, I have plenty of experience with piccolino. my VCAP is wired with it
