Isonodes, what you think?!

I have these people. They live beneath me. Neighbours you call them. Well..

I am a nice guy and like to relieve them from boomy sounds put out by my speakers. I have read about this cheap and apparently good solution, Isonodes. 4 feet that go under the speaker. Did anyone use these succesfully or, if not, would you think they will do? (Cheap) alternatives are ofcourse very welcome.

Cheap alternative is called the 3M Bumpon, which actually Klipsch supplies for some of their home theatre speakers. If you really want to isolate your speakers, you may want to get some Auralex Mopads and put them on top of a speaker stand that have spikes. Isonodes are better than having your speakers sit bare on the floor, but it probably won't do much to prevent bass notes from penetrating floors and walls

are they stand-mounts or floor standers? there are ways to decrease transmission through floors, but bass goes everywhere, and airborne sound is much harder to isolate.

my downstairs neighbors objected to a floor-stand fan. i put various isolators under it, and it stopped the vibration. i would look at auralex subdudes, bdr large pits/pucks, and the like. bass is potent, and hard to block.

feel free to contact me directly if you want more hands-on suggestions.

Soft/compliant footers are the last thing you want under your speakers if you want to get rid of boomy sounds. Metal spikes are what will reduce boominess, but many will also end up having some side effects, such as hardened upper-midrange.

However, for speakers the most important tweak is placement, i.e. distance from front/side walls, distance to listener, angle, etc. Bass traps tastefully placed will help also, but that takes money.

At first I thought the Auralex Subdudes would be just what I need. Then I saw the Mopads. As my speakers are floor standers I think the attractive extra is the slight tilt of the Mopads that will do my speakers right. I guess it will open up the sound a bit more. Affordable and right at my doorstep (dutch dealer). And yeah, speaker placement in this little room is something that I will look into some more. If you have any valuable tips feel welcome to drop em

Thanks for your suggestions guys.
