JHA does not seem to be padding the shipping costs to make a huge profit like some other companies. If you enter your information into the UPS website you can see a quote. You need to enter the proper amount for insurance, bill to account and schedule a pick up.

EMS is a lower cost but UPS is "easier" to use for the company to use . The UPS website allows JHA to track shipments/billing in a more streamlined fashion. I find that the UPS tracking information is updated more frequently than EMS. Also the UPS pick up time may be later in the day to fit JHA's schedule.

Agreed. From a company's perspective, UPS and FedEx are the easiest options. Free daily pickup, monthly billing, tracking and shipping desktop software etc. But EMS would save international customers significant money. Another option is DHL global mail, which is $10 for small flat rate packages.

We really shouldn't clutter up this thread with too much shipping talk, though. The JH13 thread got moderated for that. Someone could create a "Custom IEM International Shipping Thread" or something, if it's really worth discussing.

Hey guys... Are there any way of knowing how much space you can use for your custom art? Would really appreciate it if someone could post an example of what they sent.
Also, do they have transparent cables?

Hi. So i've got a few questions to ask.

1: for all you JH5 owners, what's the proven approx. turn around time within the states?

2: is the crossover passive or active? (more than just a ceramic bead..?)


Lastly, would anyone else who has JH5s care to chime in? I'd like to hear from more owners, as i'm considering joining the club.

If you're going for artwork, choose something very simple. Right now, it seems that they don't have things set up to do the best detailed work. My artwork came out beautifully (it's the same as my avatar), but I've seen others than did not. Also, they have a "clear" cable, which will turn green in a couple weeks, same as the UE cable does. I personally don't mind, but if you don't want that, get black.

Does the complexity of the artwork lead to a higher price? or just a longer turn-around time?

Do they charge for custom color? or does $400 get you the bare clear body?

How much is JUST a different color (say, navy blue)?

Art work should have a flat rate price of $50.

The price is the same no matter what color you get.

Turn around time took two weeks for me.

Oh cool. that's excellent.

do you think they would be able to add artwork in the future if i wished it?

as of now, i'm strongly contemplating a transparent (is there a choice?) dark/navy blue pair. Later having silver flames applied, if i ever have the money for it.

Oh, and is the crossover active, or passive?

i'm gonna bump this thread and ask if someone has compared these to the 7s or the 10x3/13/16s? i'm thinking of getting a custom and thinking if i should go all the way up or i budget myself. (which gives me more cash to spend on other stuff)
