It must have been that shootout in the joint.
We didn't have time to stretch or put hearing protection in.
You didn't have time to stretch? Oh no! Did you pull anything?

Nearing the big 50 and I am able to hear to ~14k even with a slight tinnitus handicap (complements of stupidity in my younger years).

I am jealous - the last time I tested, I was about 4 or 5kHz!

If it wasn't for sitting 3rd row center at the Boston Concert and 5th row at "THE Wall" concert at Nassau Coliseum (only 4 concerts in the US), I might be able to hear 16K. The '70's were truly filled with "Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll". Dem were da days.

But it was damn worth it!

"THE Wall" as in the Wall Tour by Pink Floyd???

Hmm... it was very odd. I could hear all of them, but I couldn't hear the 15khz for a moment and when I went backwards from 22khz it was obnoxiously loud. I also learned how crappy netbook speakers before I went over to my receiver and went to the htpc to take the test.

Yes, there were only 4 shows in the US. 2 in LA and 2 in NY at the Nassau Coliseum. My friend's father was a recording mogul and got us 2 tickets in NY.
They lost huge amounts of money having just four shows. They had 5 tractor trailer loads just for the stage and the Wall (including lighting and the whole kit and kaboodle).
The show then went on a Europe tour and I have to assume that they made their money back from those shows.
I don't know why they limited the US to 4 tour dates, but I was one of the lucky ones. They had a surround sound system that went around the entire stadium, and a giant pig and crashing airplane.
It will be forever ingrained in my memory.
They included "Animals" and Wish You Were here" along with "The Wall".
What a night. Whew.

I'm 50, 11khz is my top.
Still enjoy music greatly with no sense of missing anything.
