Audio-gd Dynamo D350 Power Regenerator - Page 2

Also, power regeneration will probably add little improvement to amps like Phoenix and dacs like Ref1 since they already have heavy power filtration. YMMV.

It's a typical high-end headphone setup. Just to think, 3 years ago I was using an iPod, Go-Vibe and Triple-Fi. Now look at my signature. Eek. Damn you Head-Fi.

But I've decided I'm going to sell my Squeezebox/CIAudio transport rig and buy a Logitech Transporter (and eventually mod that too.)

Not true. Kingwa makes the C8-SE preamp which is the C3-SE plus a regenerator. He also will be making a regenerator specifically for the Phoenix sometime next year, or at least that's the plan.

Lol I know, mp3 player= typical setup for headphones. There's something really ironic about having 50+ pounds of equipment to power 12 ounce headphones.

If your equipment has very good power components/filtration, like Ref1 and Phoenix, and a power regenerator still makes a difference, call your electrician, there is something wrong in the wiring!

I've actually meant typical head-fi equipment like DAC1, Lavry, Headroom Desktop, Glite, M^3, etc etc. They all use little power, for example DAC1 is just 16 watts at peak.

All his stuff is Class A. It is odd for a DAC to use 160 watts, I must admit. I've never seen any DAC approaching anywhere near that amount of power consumption. It is a pain in the ass to have to let it warm up for hours before listening. But I'm not rich so I can't afford a $10,000 DAC that runs on little power. The Ref1 is supposed to be the closest thing to one. I guess I'll find out any day now.

I live in an apartment building where the power is less than ideal, so a regenerator is at the top of my list. I'm pretty sure I'll be going with the PS Audio PPP. I don't think I can handle yet another piece of Audio-gd gear that gets to 140 degrees. I don't have central A/C, only a wall unit.
