I'm loving Badu's new album in its lovely, easygoing nature.

I'm just getting here (I'll read the thread later) but I've personally gotten to know this artist very well, Miles Bonny. It's hard to pin him down to one genre, but I'd say he's an RnB Soul guy. He's from my hometown of KCMO (Kansas City, Missouri, USA) and I like him and his music. As you'll read on his bio from Melting Pot Music (his label in Germany he records with sometimes, because they press vinyl, and he is a vinyl fan), "He loves you." (link: http://mpmsite.com/?area=artists&view=detail&id=249) Plus, you mentioned you liked Saadiq, and I haven't heard this one but I think these are covers (with guest production too) of him, album "Instant Saadiq"

His main stuff he does in the US is on milesbonny.bandcamp.com

He has two albums on there, if you click "more releases" on the right, at the bottom, his very first album he like ever did was a hip hop he produced with a local KC emcee named Joe Good, and the group was SoundsGood (the album is self titled I think, 2001), and the second is "Biscuits and Gravy", and to give the group a final sound they did "Goodbye", the most recent on the page. He only produced though, no singing or anything. Hip Hop now seems to be the exception with him, but he uses hip hop type beats behind his singing and horn.

If you wanna really get a good intro to him though his album "Lumberjack Soul" brings out his singing and horn skills, and from the looks of it most of the production is by other people.

And BTW all of the stuff on that MPM page is on vinyl too, dig for it on mpmsite.com

PM me for more info if you happen to like him, but before you form an opinion listen to his Lumberjack Soul album, that seems to be his main work (every artist kinda has one work that represents themselves, y'know? I usually consider it to be their most recent full LP album). I've got loads of stuff I can direct you to, and I personally know him too, so use that to advantage, ask me :)

I really can't read this thread without reccomending seal's soul albums he released two simply tittled soul and soul 2 they contain his versions of some great soul classics and are just a pleasure to listen to, I recommend pretty much all the the songs on the first album but especially "it's alright" and "a change is going to come"

New to this forum and also looking for some great music recommendations.
