I'm having difficulty charging my mp3 player from a mains supply. The unit in question, a Sony NWZ-A828, ships without a mains charger; you have to use the USB cable to connect to and charge via a computer.
I have a USB -> mains adaptor for my digital camera, but when I attempt to use this to charge my mp3 player, nothing happens. I noted that on the charger the supply was listed as 4.2v, while the mp3 player states 5v on its rear. Could this be the problem?
I'm about to jet off on holiday. Hours of driving, waiting, long-haul flights and transfers to come. If the voltage is the probable cause of my problem, am I likely to find a 5v adaptor in major international airports?
