Skullcrushers all the way! Don't get him anything more or less than what he wants: BASS!!!

I do like the idea one previous poster had of strapping a couple subwoofers to his head.

For those who are curious, I bought skullcandy bassboosters and have already wrapped the package in gift wrap

These cans were very cheap and they have motors (not drivers, MOTORS) inside each ear cup which physically shake your ears when bass notes hit.

And best of all, the mid/high sound quality is dirt terrible, making the bass notes even more emphasized

Sounds like you made the right choice! As an aside, I can't find the particular model you mentioned.. I must admit you've piqued my interest.
