Need a "quantity > quality" bass headphone

Thread Starter
What headphone should I look into if I am ONLY interested in bass? I mean, seriously, I don't care if mids/highs are drowned out to the point where I can barely hear drums, I just need a lot of bass

I'm asking because my roommate is a basshead who has tried out my dt770s before and he considers them to have extremely weak bass. If possible, I'd like to get him something with INSANE bass for his upcoming birthday.

Again, sound quality doesn't really matter as long as they "play" legible mids/highs. Just need bass

Sennheiser Surrounder. Your hair will move around in the wind it generates.

Scavenge every ebay for 3 years?

I can't seem find one.

They show up on Ebay from time to time. They might be more common this side of the pond. I've seen sales for at least 10 over time and I don't go looking for them frequently or anything. I've got a NOS boxed one with a DSP Pro. Rediculous thing but great fun. The original RRP was expensive and they sold very poorly.

Darth Beyers! Enough said. There is a awesome pair in the for sale forum. There the deep version.

Darth Beyers are another good call within this context, they let everything else suffer in the name of absolutely sickening lower midbass. When I tried them I couldn't even keep them on.

Bose Triports.

ultrasone dj1
can pound your brain to mush with low quality mid bass

The Audio Technica ATH-A900 is a very good quality headphone with heavy Bass response.

Ultrasone HFI-780s get brandished around these parts often for having gratuitous amounts of bass. Also pretty affordable/attainable compared to some of the other suggestions.

AH-C551's with a CMOY Bassboost... it almost hurts.

What is your budget for buying these headphones?

What sound card or other equipment will these headphones be plugged into?
