When I listened to the sound for the 1st time, I was hit by it. I was punched by the not-punchy-bass. I was hoping it would offer much better bass response than SE315.. equals to Klipsch Image...

HiFiMAN HE400
By now I think most of us are familiar with the history behind the HiFiMAN HE-series headphones. What started with a single model has grown into a full...
I was in Japan and was looking at headphones to buy. I had a cheap budget of about 4000 yen or circa $40. I bought this headphone because it was on sale for $30 and was very good looking. It was...
Simply put, these headphones are one the best values in the audio world. They've praised time after time, and I now know why. These are my 2nd pair of quality grade headphones (after the V6),...
Here are the pictures I took a couple of days ago comparing the stock pads (left side) and the jmoney denon pads (right side). They are great quality, comfortable, can listen for multiple hours without fatigue or making my ears too warm. They allow the sound to unfold releasing the finer details and expanding the soundstage. I would recommend these pads to anyone who wants more comfort, better sound, and nice premium leather. Everybody always talking about the return of investment on upgrades, so this is a no brainer at $69 bucks, you wont find a bigger improvement.
Those earpads look really tempting to replace my old d7000 pads. But I m curious about the base part retaining the plastic ring, on the picture posted they look really thin.
Is that part made of leather as well ?

Those look REALLY, nice. I might have to get those someday, but i'll still have to stuff them with that Markl fiberloft material :O
The pads are probably as thick as the lawton stuffed pads already. The jmoney pads are thicker than the stock pads so no extra stuffing is necessary, but to each their own.

The last picture shows the bottom side of the stock pad vs the jmoney pad. The plastic attachment ring isnt on either pad when the photes were taken. What you are seeing on the stock pad is a thin pastic sheet thats incorperated in the pad with a oval cut in the middle with a piece of fabric glued around the edges to it. Very mickey if I do say so. The jmoney pad has no plastic piece in it. The stiffness of the leather combined with a nice piece of fabric that is stretched and stitched into the pad ring makes up the bottom which eliminates the need for the cheesy stock flimsy plastic setup.
So I got my JMoney DT880 pads on last night no problem and they're amazing...
However, I think I'm being too much of a little girl with the Denon pads. I took one of the earcups in my left hand and pushed my right hand against the earpad and tried twisting counterclockwise - nothing. I tried a little harder - nothing. Am I being too ginger with it? Are other people putting the earcup against a table or something else firmer?
The instructions given in this thread are crystal clear...that's why I'm so confused as to why it wasn't working for me.
