My God, this is never ending. I quickly went from V1 to V2 (or was it 2.5) and now fast forward to V4 and then the X?

 

I'm just going to wait for them to come up cheaper on the aftermarket.

 

Wait: X-drivers are only US$130 shipped internationally. Guess my spares wood or MS2 cups might come  in handy afterall.

Haha shawn I'm still on the V1 - and it's the last headphone I bought - so I know how you feel! I have a serious itch to try those X's for $130.

 

I got the lite version of the V1 back in the early days... I imagine these would be worth it. Are they easy enough to 'install'? I have very limited soldering experience and would hate to mess them up trying to make them better...

I'm waiting on more cables before I can do a proper comparison, so I had to listen for a while with the 4s then switch over (10-15 mins) then try the Xs with the same music. Basically, they are a bit more v-shaped in sound signature. It's a bit like he has gone back to the V2s a bit (closer to the PS1 sound sig again). A good comparison for me will be with the TH900s, which I have on loan.

What is the overall change in sound signature?  Has anyone found they liked their 325is before the magnum upgrade?

I stopped listening to my Magnums and was about to sell them.  But I'm loving them again.  The Violectric V200 amp.  To my ears, it's better than the Mad Ear (and I loved them with the Grados).    Anyone enjoying their Magnums with the V200?

Should that make me think they where designed to complement the vibro cups, or something like that? I'm very tempted to get that combo!

 

I was thinking of getting the RS2i or the SR325is as an upgrade to my SR225i, but this looks like a lot more fun!
