Yep. I came in to recommend them, too.

For variety, you might want to mix in Galaxie 500. They're rock, but a very slow, soft rock. Occasionally dreamy and always good. They developed their sound as a reaction against grunge.

You might also want to consider New Age music - Brian Eno and Tangerine Dream come to mind.

And how about BT's "This Binary Universe"? I love that disc.

Eno is a great idea. From the Ambient series, I would consider Music For Airports or Day of Radiance, his collaboration with Laraaji.

Also, maybe Klaus Shultze would work? Can't think of a specific album at the moment, but I will post again if something occurs to me.

Edit: Maybe Manuel Göttsching's E2-E4? Long, hypnotic, slowly evolving...
