Favorite 32gb CF card for flash mod?

As the title says, do people have a favorite 32gb compact flash card for the ipod (4G in my case) CF mod? Thanks in advance. Note that I've duplicated this post in DIY, I just thought I'd check here as well. Oh, and yes, I've searched pretty extensively, and I haven't found anything conclusive. Thank you all!

The A-Data card that newegg was selling for cheap has been good to me and others, but newegg doesn't have it anymore.

I've seen one Topram card go south, but I've heard of them working out ok too.

If the Transcend card is ATAPI then that's all sorts of fail - ATAPI is for tapes and CD drives, CF should be ATA.

Don't let people tell you that you need X's galore. The 133x A-Data card is fast enough to record 16/48 stereo WAV on the fly if you want to. Any CF card will give you snappier UI response than any harddrive, too.

Hmmm... I have a Transcend 32gb card purchased for me on Valentines Day 2009 in my 2nd generation mini and it works fine. I have heard that there have been problems with the card looping the restore the ipod file though. Good thing about most of the cards though is that they have a lifetime warranty.

I have the A-data "speedy" card and it works with my ipod 5g very well. I have had this 32gb card for at least a year, so I paid about 130 usd when it came out.

Another A-Data card user here. I have had it in my 5.5 for quite some time now. No problems whatsoever except for slowish write speeds.

Why would you want to do a 32 CF? just out of curiousity.

I know there are some benefits but, is spending that much money worth it?

My hard drive crashed. I figured the CF card would be worth a shot, and might last longer, or not...

I use the A-Data speedy on my ipod 4G. It was the cheapest 32GB I could find, and lots of success reports with this card.

I am surprised that NewEgg does not carry A-Data anymore. That card was well recognized as a safe choice for the ipod mod purpose. I had put one into a mini...seemed to work...but I messed up another portion of the mini install and never go the project off the ground (broke off a connector in the wrong place...egads....).

Longer battery life and quicker ui response - no spinning platter. Also lighter by about 40 grams.

I'm guessing that newegg was actually closing out the last stock of a card that was a lot more expensive originally.

I think it's also because it was one of the first 32gb cf cards, and hence very slow. Newer ones are much faster. Though for ipod modding purposes I find it to be more than fast enough for file transfer.

I ended up using a Kingston 32gb that I got from Amazon. Interestingly, I could never get the conversion to work in my early 4G 30gb Photo. I've read that there are two versions of the logic board - one works, one doesn't. I ended up getting a decent deal on a 2nd gen 4gb mini and converting that. It works great.
