No such plans in the near future. Someone asked a similar question on the previous page but I'd be more likely go for an HDJ500 or MJ71 with my own money.

I may try the same with the XO Vision but I'm really digging the way they sound right now in their original enclosure.

I have my doubts about putting Sporta drivers in a closed enclosure but good luck...

Yeah, I'm not sure either but I had heard it suggested before so I figured "Screw it! Worth a try." And if they don't work I bet the XO Visions will... :)

Sportapro uses the same drivers as the Portapro's, correct?

I'd be curious to see how you rate the HDJ500. I have the big brother in the HDJ-2000 and really like it, although admittedly it's very expensive for what you get.

Yea, they looks pretty, also the SE-MJ5:

Just wondering but what do you mean by this comment? The sound quality is not worth the price or..?

I have no vested interest in the HDJ500 aside from liking how it looks in red but that's often enough for me to pick something up. Not for a while though - got to pace myself.

Nothing negative like that. The HDJ-2000 are one of my favourites, but they are also my most expensive set and I feel the crunch of diminishing returns.

Looking around Musician's Friend's clearance section I came across the Cortex CHP-2500s; they look abit like HFI450s:

Has anyone tried these? They sell for $50 on M-F, $40 on Amazon and J&R; may or may not be a decent buy.

M-F also has Numark PHX's for $55 shipped, which is what brought me to the site in the first place. Im not sure if these are the same as the PHX Pros though, but they do come with the same accessories

Hmm.. Numark only has two headphones listed on their site - the PHX and the $15 HF125. I'm guessing PHX = PHX Pro, then. Good price.

As for the Cortex, I've had them in my Amazon cart for at least 4 months now. I keep meaning to pull the trigger but keep reminding myself that I've got plenty of phones. Same story with the Numark HF125, actually, as well as the Reloop RHP-10. The build and packaging on the Cortex certainly look nice for the money.

those Cortex looks nice for 50$, but without any reference, i wouldnt go for it.

Guys, can you tell me if the DJ100 pads are good? material, soft/hard, rubber? hot? I realize they should fit the HP700 and koss sells them for 5$ including shipping (tho i havent find that specific model but they (koss website support chat) told me all model's cushions are in sale there)

Just wrote up and TRIED to post huge detailed impressions of the Sportapro but this stupid board lost it all for me... Right on!

Not writing all that again. I'll just say I don't like them much. The midbass veils the mids which is a big "No, no" for me. They seem slow, sloppy and even distorted on some passages. I'm going to put these on some open air frames and hope that they improve dramatically. It's been a long, long time since I heard the Portapro. Unless these improve drastically I just can't understand what people see in the Portapro's. Right now I'd say I much prefer the KSC75's price be damned.

BTW XO Vision's destroy these on every level except bass extension where they are about tied up. The XO Visions are faster, clearer, MUCH better bass and more prominent highs. They are just FAR better, period. Don't believe it? Spend the pittance it costs to buy them and tell me I'm wrong with a straight face.

Reloop RHP-10 sure looks striking in green/white, but DAMN! look at them in red/black!

Olimoronio does XO vision gives you money for each sell? biggrin.gif jk! but you got me in, im not buying them now tho, but on my list for soon to try (and wire)

The Numark HF125 is just a fun, punchy phone... I'd call them Punk Rock phones. Nothing "audiophile" about them. I wouldn't review them unless you're in the mood for that kind of phone.

Pretty sure they're the same. They're dead ringers - even the writing on the side is the same.
