Man, ljokerl, I like what you say about the 650's but those 750's look awfully tempting...

You are right but to make up for it I am officially calling the coming week 'joker's DJ week' and adding one new "DJ" can per day starting tomorrow

Hopefully starting with something that rhymes with HOSS...hint hint, just kidding.

I like most of them, though for different reasons, but it really is possible to find almost any sort of sound signature without straying from the realm of so-called DJ sets. I was genuinely surprised by how different all of the DJ headphones sound, to be honest .Of course 'DJ' is just a form factor but I still expected some sort of consistency among similarly-priced sets. I will say that the DJ headphones more often than not seem to stray from the 'house sound' of their respective manufacturers - no real surprise there but just something to keep in mind.

Would it be possible to generate a table without the isolation column? I'm curious how that would shuffle the rankings as not everybody needs the isolation.

Haven't gotten to step up from the "gateway drug" KSC75 (and they broke) but i did discover something about the cobys.

They broke as well (I was trying to see if i could do anything to loosen the swivel on them and snapped it by accident) so i had them there sitting alongside my JVC HA-X570s (which i do say sound decent for their price range, just kinda ugly). Decided today to try a little experiment, and I put the Coby earpieces on the JVC headband. This solved the problem of the headphones gripping too tight (the JVC headband is a bit looser on the grip. It also seems to have given the headphones a bit of an airyness while still having the same low and high impact. The up/down swivel is a bit stiffer now, but that can be fixed (just a bit of sanding on the inside) Personally neither headphones are worth modding but if you have both then try it out.

I think it's exactly what you would expect - poorly isolating headphones do relatively better and highly isolating ones do relatively worse.

Well, at least you have a set of working headphones. If you want the KSC75 functioning again you can always exercise the lifetime warranty.

Joker I highly recommend trying out the Sennheiser HD428. Fantastic sound for less than $50.

Also might want to try the HD448.
