If it's posting, wouldn't people just end up keep editing their answer?

They can't change the answer that Joker quotes their post, and they have no way to know how many are right before he quotes it.

I quote the answers in my posts so I don't think that would work.

Hmmm. I know the Pioneer and one of the Ultrasone's but the rest is a mystery. I think I'll have better luck playing the lottery.

ljokerl, please tell me you didn't buy those Creative's. If you're thinking about it don't - I was mistaken.

Lol James doesn't seem to think so. And no, I didn't buy the creatives.

Oh good - I was thinking you were mad because you got them and didn't like them. Let's just say they take FOREVER to burn in and the sound goes all over the place during this time.

BTW, you never answered my other question - do you want in on the Prodipe Pro800 tour? I'd really like to get at least three people in on it and so far only have two. I extended the time the reviewers could keep them to 10 days so it'd be more like three weeks 'til you get them but I'm sure you can think of SOMETHING to do in the meantime lol

Hi!

I hate to be the one to tell this joker, but the Superlux HD669 passes your criteria, as it comes with a 1- and a 3 m cord. The HD668B too, but it makes more sense, to reveiew the closed version. They are kind of a FOTM here. We got a seprete thread for group buys from thomann. This way the HD668B is like $40 each (Wow, USD got pretty strong. I'm glad I ordered the Xcape yesterday), and we think it's really amazing for the money, but it would be nice to have your opinion on them as well. I've yet to hear the CAL! unfortunately, but aside from the harsh treble, they should beat them. Thomann does not have the HD669 yet, but when we get our hands on one, I think I could send you one to review. If you're intrested of course.

Bit of an offtopic, but where can I find your impressions on your K601? I think your opinion is the most useful, because you have so many reviews as reference, and they are really accurate too, as far as I can tell. (and I see, that many share this opinion)
So I would be grateful to have your thoughts on how other headphones stack up against it. (And I don't really care about the soundstage size, because that's pretty obvious). Real curious about the FA-003 too, as we have so few impressions about them, and they look promising.

p.s: I hope you will like your Miracle. :) I'll happily chip into a high-end full size can too. These threads require such an effort, that 2 grands is an underpayment imho. I saw your threads linked on many forums in many countries, so I think you helped way more than 2.000 people. Actually I was pretty dissapointed that we got the money for your customs this slow.

Sure, I'll try the prodipes. Three weeks is good - I've got plenty to keep me busy.

Don't worry - you're not the first to mention Superlux, though I've never heard of the 669.

And I don't think I posted any impressions of the K601 - it's a pretty popular headphone and I don't visit the full-size forum a whole lot so I never felt the need to write anything up. Besides, full-size headphones are extremely difficult to review because so much of the reviewer's experience depends on source and amp with them. My Heed CanAmp, for example, sounds terrible with a lot of other headphones because it was tuned specifically for the K601. My Heed+Beyer DT770/250 may be the worst mid-range setup I've ever heard...

As for the FA-003, I borrowed one from Rawrster and though that for a closed can it was quite good, sort of a do-no-wrong sound signature without a whole lot of risk. For a closed set it's pretty spacious and in general it's quite easy to drive. However, I don't have a need for a closed full-size headphone as I really don't bother anyone when listening to my K601 at home so I don't see myself owning the FA-003. Yes, I do have the PRO 650, but I consider them at least semi-portable. Plus they have a 'fun' sound signature whereas the FA-003 and K601 both strive to be neutral and accurate, albeit in slightly different ways.

Oh and thanks for chipping in for the miracle. Glad my reviews are so appreciated. Believe it or not I do run into links to my threads being used on the other US forums I visit once in a while (though I don't like the tables being used out of context) and I'm glad overseas communities are benefiting as well.

It can be found on their website.

Actually, one of our members spoke to Zsolt from Heed Audio recently, and he got told, that the CanAmp was designed for the HD650, and gives the best performance above 300 ohm load. It makes sense, because the Senns seem to be so much more popular, but I was kind of surprised knowing it is the most recommended amp for the K601 here.

I take it as you didn't like the sound of the FA-003 as much as the K601. After hearing the HD250 Linears, I think people missing out on how good a closed headphone can sound. I was really impressed with them on last weekend's meet. Too bad they're discontinued. Low end was a bit rumbly, but extension was pretty amazing, and I think resolution was better then on my K601.

I just wanted to know how recommendable the Fischers are, for people looking for a closed, full-size under $200. I'm a regular poster in the recommendation threads on a hungarian tech site's forum, and I try to emphasize the importance of reading the actual text over the ranking, with more or less good results. (Actually on some occasions, like the TD100 vs M1/2 they don't really seem to correspond)

I give up, this is making my brain numb.

Well my Heed is not exactly stock - perhaps stock it had a more universal signature but I got mine pre-tuned for the K601 and I think it works exceptionally well.

I do like the FA-003 - just don't need it. However, I don't usually recommend full-size cans as there are far too many variables, as there are with reviewing them. I just don't have a good enough grasp of the amp/source market to give sufficiently educated advice.

Would it help if I said that eight of the eleven have been mentioned, albeit in different posts?

Well that's a different case then.

So, have you ever tried the recommended setups for other headphones? I have a feeling that people way overemphasize this issue (as well as others, like burn-in). It seems as if someone does not like the sound of thier favourite headphones, they always tell them that it's because of his setup, or it needs some ridiculus amount of burn-in. I can see that this alone is enough for you to not start a full-size thread. But some impressions would be nice. Like brief comparsion to the others you use: HD25-1 , Pro 650
