I thought you really liked them and iirc you got a pretty good deal on them

I got a great deal on them, and they are very good, I just like more bass than what these give. If I sell them someone will get a good deal on them though as I will pass on the savings I had when I bought them. Also I am feeling a need to purge a bit as I went on a bit of a shopping spree over the past couple of months.

But I also like being able to help threads like this grow as it helps all head-fi members.

Anyone tried the Urbanears Plattan? i have to admit they look like something i'd like to own, if they sound at least "decent". and i like them portability too, they dont fold, they "bend"

not much info in the forums about them.

but everything by the brand seems to be overpriced, 60$ for this? for that they should sound better than the ATH-FC700A, at least!

you guys have to admit the look and the folding mechanism is tempting.

Man, even if you hate Amazon for some odd reason...

...you've got to love their shipping speed. I just ordered these!

OK I know James said he was most interested in the Creative's but I think that was just a form of reverse psychology. So I'll humor him and do what we all know he really wants first...

The jWIN's!

First of all they're bigger than I thought they'd be. Here they are next to the Coby CV-185's....

Also, I don't care what anybody says, I think they look good...

Kind of an industrial or mechanical look but still simple enough to have a modicum of elegance to them.

Couple things I noticed: The clamping force was pretty tight at first but very quickly eased up within just several minutes of wearing them. I have a medium large head so take that as you will.

These seem very well built. Nice, strong feeling plastic, cloth padded headrest with pleather on top and even metal in the bands

Also, these (seemingly) have no intrinsic flaws that will prevent them from sounding better with break in. There are nice even holes around the dome of the driver...

The only thing is that they do have the dreaded cloth of doom on the earpads but I'm going to let them break in for 100-200 hours before deciding if it should be removed or not.

Well, that's all for now folks - time to listen! .

ljokerl, threads like the one above don't bother you, do they?

Do you consider them derailment?

Please be brutally honest.

They don't bother me personally, no - I only get one notification regardless of number of thread updates so I couldn't care less. I am worried that they may be causing those more interested in actual reviews to unsubscribe though.

I figured as much... I mean, this thread should be about the headphones that you've actually reviewed and questions about said phones. It really shouldn't be about the next neato phone we happen to see or mods or anything like that.

I'm going to make a sort of splinter thread for those types of things. I sure hope you participate though, ljokerl. It just wouldn't be the same without your knowledge and expertise.

And, James, I hope to see you there as well... Heck anyone who wants to participate - come join in on the fun!

I found the Philips SHP5400 for 15 euros and am thinking of buying them. Do you consider them more or equal comfortable than ksc 75? (i found ksc 75 comfortable for at least 1-2 hours).

I want to buy another budget cans besides ksc75 and iam thinking the philips or the jvc flats both for almost the same price. Which do you consider best overall?

Also  i am using the brainwavz m1 now and although i found them very good in SQ, i think my newbie music preference wanted them a bit more clean. I dont mean the  highs or anything. Its just that the sound is all "too much". the only word i can describe it is warm and dark. I dont know what you can understand for my hearing but if you make something up from my impressions pls tell me. popcorn.gif

Dude, go for the Philips... trust me.

Have you tried bending the holders in the ksc75?

imho (i have both) The flats have a better volume response than the ksc73 but they dont have the same bass, bass is better in the ksc75. also i have used my 75's to go to the gym or other sports activities, flats fell off if i walk with them on. you might want to take that into consideration. How much are you willing to spend?

goddamnit we dont even let joker to answer fisrt ... we have to get us a life    thread biggrin.gif
