Keepers as in the seller can keep 'em?

Sorry, I meant that I want to keep them and probably won't return them or sell them.

I've been listening to these for about an hour now. They sure don't try to come out and try to impress you, but I guess that's a good thing. I was hoping these sounded like the SRH-840, but no such luck. Oh well.

I'd say that's a good thing. lol

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Sorry but I hated my SRH-840's. To each their own!

What the world??? OK this board is screwy. It keeps putting "JamesJamesJam" in my post and I never wrote that... And it doesn't show up when I go to edit... WTF? Weird.

I just figured you were overly excited about some new headphones or something normal_smile%20.gif

Oh wait, I guess that wasn't your signature and your name isn't James

Haha... I wish I was THAT excited!

Not only this but every time I ever edit I have to go completely out of the thread, come back in and THEN and only then can I edit. Very annoying. I wish they would fix this.

EDIT: OK This board is haunted! It is now putting up my post TWICE! I didn't do that! The only way I could get rid of the double post is to go to edit (after I came back into the thread of course) and delete the entirety of my post there. BUT IT STILL SHOWS MY POST!!!

Be afraid... Be VERY afraid!

The ATH-M50 went from 109 to 135-149 on Amazon. Does anyone know why? Also, where do you guys normally buy your headphones?

Wherever they're cheapest. If I'm unfamiliar with the company I just type the name into Google and see if there are a lot of complaints first.

ljokerl, do those Numark PHX Pro's swivel back so you can take one cup off the ear?

I have a DJ friend who's looking for new phones and thought these would be perfect... especially at their price now.

He wants them to swivel like this...

Poisoned your mind, body, and spirit. Gotta be more careful looking at adverts and stay away from the headphone sections!

Do what you want - I just know you have a lot of stuff on your plate and thought your time would be better spent elsewhere.

Oh, and a question: When you said "Interesting about the Eckos though as I've learned from my earpollution experiments identical exteriors do not mean identical sound in the case of fashion phones."

What usually sounds better? The fashion phones or the others?

BTW, James, I put those XO Vision drivers in a pair of Koss UR-15C's and they pretty much lost everything good about them. I know it's a radically different enclosure than your Kanen's but I just get the feeling that they aren't going to sound good in those either.

I think the amazingly good sound of them comes from a combination of two things...

1. The sides of the enclosure are totally open

2. The close proximity of the driver to the PCB and the battery casing.

In other words, they got lucky.

JamesJamesJamljokerl? who's that? biggrin.gif

edit: wtf this is a mess, dont quote this post

The chances that I'd buy that Coby pair are low anyway but thanks - I'll toss them out.

Usually the 'others' sound better except in the case of the Panasonic RP-DJ120 vs the Earpollution Nerve Pipes which are equally garbage.

+1. I have no problem with ditching the advantages of Amazon prime to save a few bucks as long as the vendor is still trustworthy.

No, they don't do that. I don't think any of the phones I've tested do that aside from the HD25.

EDIT: wow, haunted thread indeed. I swear I edited Olimoronio's first post to only include the relevant bits.

Can anyone identify these phones..?

b8dc0d50.jpg

I don't know, I thought the little rainbow thing might give the brand away. They never seem to put the model number on the phones themselves with these wireless ones.

Anyway, the reason I ask is because I got them today ($1 lol) and they seem pretty well built with a nice thick headband and nice little click sound when you swivel them back into place. Haven't hooked them up yet (they do have an aux jack) here's hoping they sound halfway decent. If not oh well, like I said, they were only $1.

@ljokerl

I'm assuming you picked up the klipsch S3? If so, do you know what's the difference between it and the S2? They're priced identically, only have a different housing. And the S2 and S4 already share a similar house sound. All of which make the S3 appear to be some sort of bastard child between the two...confused.gif

Mr. Joker. and Mr Olimoronio, and anyone else, would you please chose one of the following:

ATH CF700A

or

Denon AH-P372

Thank you.

Yep, it was the S3. I haven't received it yet so I really can't say what it sounds like. The S2 and S4 don't have too much in common IMO other than the fact that both failed to impress but I'm hoping the S3 has the frequency response of the S2 with the clarity and detail of the S4.  I guess I won't know for a little while though.

With no other criteria P372 for me. FC700 sounds a bit muddy.
