Yeah, eventually. I've had a pair for a while but haven't gotten around to it.

hi joker,

thanks for sharing first.

but, when it comes to compare with Vmoda M100, is it a far cry from it?

I agree, in trems of sound quality, they do not conform to audiophiles' requirements, but they are receiving a great deal of exposure all around. Just curious to know how they can manage to have so much publicity, ah?

I wouldn't put it in the same league as the $100 cans, but at the ~$20 or whatever it goes for I think it sounds great. I just wish they were more comfortable. If I had $50 to spend on a portable over ear bassy headphone, I'd add some Shure 840 pads onto it and call it a day.

How are the xb500s vs the philips downtowns? im coming from some monster turbines (which i lost) so tell me how similar they are to them too. Leakage is a big deal also.

Which one of these headphones would be best for metal besides the HD25?

I haven't heard the Downtowns. The XB500 leaks a bit - I wouldn't want it for library use, for example. For general commuting it'll be fine.

Really depends on your preferred signature and price range. At the cheaper end of things I rather like the HD428 for rock and metal, as well as the bassier Panasonic HTF600.

And the sound? Compared to the monster turbines if you can. I could listen to those things at 70% and no one would hear my music

You play your Turbines at 70%? What source are you using, and how are you not deaf? The Turbines are sensitive as hell. I only do about 30-35% on my iPhone.

I think his point is that they isolate well enough that he could do so. Not that he actually does listen that loud.

I actually don't find that they isolate that well (using single flange tips).

The sound is good for the price - there's a review on the front page of this thread. They'll give you more bass (mostly more mid-bass) than the Turbines but overall shouldn't be too different.

Nice thread Mr ljokerl. Can you please review the Ultrasone HFI-780s? Thanks
