Its too bad the table isnt a actualy table instead of a graphics. For me insulation where it scored 10, should score 0; I hate closed ear headphones so a way to "sort them" would have been nice.

       sadly there is no insulation , and closed headphones are good in noisy environments , like in commute .

If I remember correctly, there is a link to download an excel spreadsheet of the review that is sortable, look down at the end by the table.

I guess I forgot to link it in the OP but there's a somewhat up to date Google Docs version here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AlvRfcI9KJJndFZGMnZvYjBRMnBSa0paSmpKelJCSWc#gid=1 . You can either grab the data and use your own excel sheet to sort it or use the Google Doc itself.

Hello, I need a pair of headphones for gaming, I'm among the Sennheiser HD 419, Beyerdynamic DT 235, JVC HARX900 (btw, it looks very heavy), Superlux 668B and Samson SR850.

If you live near a Marshalls, they tend to have the Philips Citiscape Downtown for $35, and they're supposed to be pretty good for gaming.

TJ Max might have them too, as well as the Uptowns for $50, good deals. I actually bought the Downtown at Marshall's but haven't had a chance to put them thru their paces. Hadn't really read much about either one's gaming prowess...

I enjoyed gaming with my HA-RX700 for a long time, far from the best sound stage out there but it's a step above other closed headphones I've heard, I think I've read the RX900's even a slight step up in that regard. They're fun sounding, somewhat boomy but for the price ($35-ish) they're great IMO, comfortable too.

I wasn't planning on comparing the Downtown to my JVC (much less the Beyers) but I might give it a shot within the context of gaming.

I think I commented on the Samson/Superlux vs the JVC on the other thread that you asked in, definitely towards the opposite end of the spectrum... Less comfortable stock but the pads aren't hard to mod or replace.

As someone suggested in the other thread, if you can describe what kind of gaming you intend to do with them (single player/online, competitive fps or other stuff where positional cues aren't as big a deal, etc) it'd probably help in narrowing it down.

Hi, I play a bit of everything, games like Alan wake, resident evil, Far Cry 3, Call of Duty, etc.  But mostly, single players games.

I have 50 bucks to expend, I´m not audiophile, just I want to a decent sound, and comfortability, will be my first entry level headphones.

BTW, I have a creative X-Fi XtremeGamer...

 

PS: Are these genuine Samson SR850?

Hi, i'm curious when will the Jays V-jays be featured in this comparison?

 

Have had the px100II and now the V-Jays and I think they are one of the best ive tried. I'm a fan of open portables and just wondering where my current gear will hold up to the other available products that would better it.

Don't plan to add the AKGs. I do have a pair of the Jays but I'm not sure if I'll ever have time to add them.
