The Beatles Remastered Box Set - US Pre-order?

Hi,

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I have a question. Will the Beatles Remastered Box Set be released here in the US? All the pre-orders I've found are UK only.

Only found it in the UK, as a side question I'm wondering why the mono set is dearer when there is less CD's ????

Some people believe that the mono versions of their albums sound better. For me, it depends on the album.

I'd wait on buying them until people start to receive them and put in some feedback. I really want this set as well, but the stereo versions have been made slightly louder. This may negatively affect their sound quality.

As jfourc said, some people believe that some of the albums sound better in their mono versions. For the first 4 albums, there is a general consensus on this. Doing all of them on mono though? I don't know. The stereo box could also sound awesome, even if it has been mastered to be slightly louder. So I'd wait if I were you, and see what people think of each.

It was really wild talking to a friend of mine about the Beatles mono recordings. He stated that during the mixdown they spent weeks on the early mono Beatles records. The truth was that 2 channel was not yet a respected way to hear Lps. The 2 Channel mix was always done as almost an afterthought, in a day. Wow.......Im writing this in a shopping mall and a song from Rubber Soul just came on the overhead speakers........

I spoke to someone in my local independent record store recently, and they are not yet permitted to take pre-orders!

I gather that, sometime in August, they will be able to do so. Personally, I can't wait!!

Don't worry about it. The best price will probably be at somewhere like Best Buy the week they're released.

I figured as much. Thanks!

I'm looking forward to the remasters as well. I'm currently saving up money in the hopes of getting both the stereo and mono sets.

That's probably true. I'm just used to pre-ordering things all the time since I'm an avid gamer.

Possible bomb shell: I just heard at the Steve Hoffman forum that Dr. Ebbetts got ahold of some samples from the remasters and he's retiring.
