Hello. I am from Russia. It is my first post (sorry if my english poor).
I need your help.
Long time (2003-2009), I had iriver IFP 599t.
The quality of the sound I liked. But I lost it.

Now I do not know what to buy.

Requirements for the player:
1. Battery for 20h or more
2. SQ: like iriver 599 or best
3. Compact
4. Do not touch

Many recommend the sansa clip / fuze, sony s638f
But clip/fuze not lead to the first criterion.

I have the opportunity to buy IFP 999
I do not know what to choose iriver IFP 999 or Sony s638f ???
SQ iriver IFP 999 > SQ sonys638f ???

Please help in choosing.

Look at the Cowon iAudio7 or Cowon iAudio D2. The SQ might be to your liking. I've never listened to the player you have, but these are good alternatives, especially the iAudio7. Also, the Sony S63X/73X series are great choices as well.

Thank you for your reply, but .....
Cowon iAudio7 .... has presented a new year girl. It took her a couple of times. The sound quality after the IFP 999, I did not like.

Cowon D2 .... does not want to. He touch.

Sony S63X/73X ..... So far, the choice fell on him .... or IFP 999.

I used to own an iriver IFP-799, after that the sony A808 and now the X1060 (great sound!).
There is quite a large difference in sound signature; the iriver sounded more dynamic to my ears, too much to my taste.
But you might have a different taste, so you might find the Sonys too polite sounding, see if you can try it first.

Thank you for your opinion, but unfortunately, I do not have opportunities, the players listen to before buy.
