yep, Blue.

the Steve Hoffman remaster is quite nice too... though I think it was recorded lovingly from the get-go. I put it on as the first lp when I hooked up my new speakers and just about cried. Gorgeous songs and recorded damn-near perfect.
Court and Spark is sweet too.
Hejira is sweet too.
I hope anyone looking at this post has checked out Joni singing on The Last Waltz dvd. The most amazing version of Helpless you're likely to hear and a sweet rendition of Coyote too.

No matter how much I love the other albums, I always come back to Hejira. Hearing the first notes of Song for Sharon sends chills down my spine.

I like Joni in her more experimental moods. Mingus is my favorite album of hers, a long way from the pop/faux jazz of her albums up to that point.

"Goodbye Pork Pie Hat" is my favorite, but the whole album is superb and generally much overlooked compared to Blue, Court and Spark and Hejira.

Court and Spark does "help me" on it which is my favorite song of hers

Blue is my favorite, followed by Ladies of the Canyon.
Song to a Seagull I like for its unique somewhat melancholic atmosphere.

Very close for the top spot among her best albums - Blue, Court and Spark, Ladies of the Canyon, Hissing of Summer Lawns are all superb. I listen most to The Hissing of Summer Lawns still, but I think Court & Spark and Blue are probably better (though it would be hard to say why). Lets go for Court and Spark - its more ambitious than Blue, and just as perfectly realised.
