These will mostly be used with my laptop, with a set of custom IEMS and ESW9's. I really don't need the amp on the go, but it does need to be able to be a carry on for airplanes. I do not want a D10. Really I have read a lot about the Pico and the RSA Predator, but not much comparing these two against the headroom. Any opinions? Right now I am leaning towards the Pico.

I loved these buds to bits, they were the perfect everyday headphone. Small and light and comfortable and barely protruded past the outside of your ears. I like the fact that no one can really...

If you want to go with a Headroom product, I would suggest the Desktop Portable as it is battery powered. Otherwise, you will need to carry two power adapters for the Micro Amp and Micro DAC since the current models are not battery powered. I don't know about you, but I don't want to lug around power adapters if I can help it. While the Desktop Portable sounds better than the Micro Stack, it does cost a bit more.
I haven't heard either the Pico nor the Predator, but Pico looks like a good fit in terms of ergonomics -- very small and battery powered.

The portable amp from headroom that runs on batteries is a good option. Pico is more about the dac then the amp.

So would it be better just to buy the DAC and then get a small portable AMP for when I am on the go? I was thinking of going for the DAC then getting the slim, but I think that will be too expensive.

the d10 is probably the best combo device if you want both in the same unit. Otherwise getting a small portable dac (pico dac, d10 dac only, etc.....) and amp works as well. But every person I have heard from says that the pico's dac is better then the amp itself in comparison hence why the pico dac is also a immense hit.
