A question about mounting the T-400s. They only seem to mount up to -- but not over -- the metal ring at the bass of the nozzle. Is this correct? It results in the tip sticking out enough to close up and muzzle or compromise the sound output when in ear. If they are supposed to mount over the metal ring (and all the way to the bass of the nozzle) any tips on how to do so without damaging the nozzle or ruining the tips? Does the inner tube need to be stretched first? And once on over the ring how difficult are they to get off?
Thanks. |

LOL
I have an extra pair of complys for that experiment. I usually use the stock single-flange tips - they give the best sound overall. Sony hybrids are very similar in sound but I haven't tried them again.
I've never liked Complys and I don't like how much brighter RE0 gets with the double-flange tips.
The meelec M11 tip set fits the RE0. Its biflange tips are slightly smaller and softer than the originals. The tip set also includes a tri flange and a couple is different single flange tips

I'm planning on using the bi-flanged tips of the RE0 with my monster turbines once they arrive at my house. Has anyone tried this before?
Here's my order of preference so far (mainly to bring out the bass):
1. Shure olives with comply inner core
2. Premium zune ear phone tips (better bass than the stock flanges)
3. Stock single flange (med)
4. Stock large biflange
5. Sony hibrids (med or large) - the inner core is too narrow which affect soundstage but it is very comfy!
6. Backwards comply (forward it closes up the hole)
I'll have to try the mod with sticking a small singe flange on the comply core.
I used that combination from the start. Right now I'm using the Sony hybrids - they render a more fun sound.
I find that cutting off the front of the Comply gives the best comfort, isolation, and sound.
I didn't hear a difference after trimming the complys.
