The OP only posted once in this thread, asking about something not everyone knows. Is that enough for you to conclude that he doesn't know what a DAC is? What kind of logic here?
I assumed that he knew that the iPod does not output digitally without special software coaxing. Therefore, I assumed that he was going to try and use his iPod anyway, despite it being analog-output-only in most cases.
I find it can sometimes take a lot of searching and looking through several threads after using the search engine to find an answer to some seemingly simple questions such as this. Just because you know the info is buried in some threads there somewhere, doesn't mean it's going to be easy for someone to just go find it right away.
