Best Full Size Headphones manufacturer? - Page 2

ridiculous poll. I hope everyone who votes has had experience with every manufacturer in the poll, with the products purchased from each being on the same price level.

My vote seems to be the lone one that went to Sony. Admittedly, I'm biased given that I love my CD3K, but I looked at it from the point of view that Sony has consistently produced pretty bold statement headphones that are considered to be among the best of all time... how many companies have one pair of headphones, let alone two, on the level of the R10 and Qualia? Add to that the CD3K, which IMO can at least stand toe-to-toe with any of the headphones in its price range, and the SA5K, another very good current offering, and it seems to me like Sony is in a class all of its own.

I didn't vote. I own headphones from a variety of manufacturers and could make the case for Sennheiser, Grado, AKG, and Beyerdynamic. Each makes (or used to make) extremely fine headphones. On the other hand, each of them has made some crap.

Besides, the entire point of Head-Fi is being able to own multiple pairs of headphones. Brand loyalty is not necessary. I'll buy whatever I think is good.

Sony because of their R10. Sennheiser are getting a lot of votes because lots of people have heard of them, but most haven't actually hear their quality. It's like a vote with Ferrari as a car manufacturer, they're very well known so people put down their vote.

I own headphones from almost all manufacturers listed above except Sony and JVC. I go for Sennheiser for its history and vast production line.

Senseless poll because we all know DENON make the best cans. Right?

Looks like the Senny fanboys are winning :P But yes totally useless poll...

For the highest of the high end I say Sennheiser, Sony and Stax......for the mid-price ($250 to $1000) i say Sennhesiser & AKG, with sony close behind.......for lower end audiophile ($60-250) I say Sennheiser, Sony and Beyerdynamic. and for the low low end stuff I have no idea.
