Greatest ability to sound life-like with the proper equipment, 701 or 650?

Which one scales better to a lifelike presentation with the proper equipment?

Aah, the thread we had to have, olblueyez !

Now all we have to do is establish what the 'proper equipment' consists of. For mine, if the HeadRoom Balanced Desktop stack (DAC+amp) isnt the combination I believe it to be (given that I dont own said stack) for a computer-based rig, I would be extremely disappointed. Please advise re suggestions for the right equipment.

I think a lot people are commenting on the headphones never having had the chance to hear them at a high level of potential. Im not getting into a war over what "proper" should mean to everyone. But if you tell me your driving your 701's with a portable then I will tell you to get lost because your opinion is worthless.

Did you read my last post carefully????

Did you see where I explained in very simple terms that the wrong tool for the job yields lesser results?

He is right, you should go ahead and buy the 701's since your here to have people agree with you and not to obtain advice and then you can learn the hard way.

The problem is some of the people are confusing 2 issues here. They confuse their right to an opinion with good advice for someone in your situation. Sure everyone can have a say, but when you have two different groups you will have to choose sides.

Choose Wisely

ok

Why not tell us about your experiences with both headphones and what you think about the question posed by the thread topic? Otherwise get lost. Seriously dude, if you want to make assumptions to support trolling then take a hike.

first poll didn't work out as you hoped?
yeah, it seems to me there are going to be many more polls until the HD650 wins by good margin

Classic mistake, thinking for one second I care if people want to listen to 701 headphones. My system sounds so good now that I really am not capable of caring if people go at things ass first. I will speak my mind though. If someone doesnt like it then we go back to me not caring.

I also thought this poll would attract more people who have spent time building a rip for the 701 or 650 insterad of a mixture of experienced users and parrots.

I have no problem with it. Just bugging you really.
650s at least deserve a concession prize

I'm sure this thread will become another where the 701 fans come out foaming at the mouth because some people told the truth about their precious headphones. If anyone wants to know how to eliminate the shortcomings of the 650, let me know, I will be happy to clue you in. I beleive the bass problem on the 701 can be fixed with tubes mainly and maybe a new cable but the tilted mids is another story, Im at a loss as to how to fix that one.
