My Se500 have the infamous cable problem and I have decided to get a new IEM. I would want something below $500 and have replacable cable. I generally listen to New Age (Enya, Jim Brickman, etc) and some classical (most panio solo/conceti). I appreciate any advice you guys can provide. I had be gone from this site for a long time and was hoping never return again......

You could try a custom, thereby repairing your Se500.
You need an ear impression and you send them your Se500 and ear impression and they will make a custom out of it. The cables are new replaceable, so if it is faulty you could order a new one.
There are many different company offering these services.
That is if you still love the sound signature of your SE500 and not looking for the next FOM IEM.
