Just to make it clear, the ones that sounded "awful" where from German Manufaktur web site as part of DT880 package when they were still available.

I was not commenting on what you said - I was simply pointing out that the Aviator pads sound bad.

Good question, I was wondering that myself as well.
I hope so, but I doubt it....

They do not. You used to be able to order extra pads of either type when you placed your headphone order, though.

I bought them from a Dutch pilot webshop.

Would a Little Dot MKIII pair well with the DT770/600?

Thinking of buying an amp? I havent heard the LD, but from the specs looks like it will mate well. I used a van Waarde custom, this amp's configuration is the base for the Darkvoice 336 series, and I loved it! I could sell it for a good price, as Im using now one based on siemens 3cg's. You could even listen to it ,we live kind of close by.

Anyway, if your interested or not, I recommend to consider the van Waarde type Darkvoice 336

I received my DT770/600 with leather pads this morning.
So far I'm happy with them.
I can't find any flaws or faults in them. Nothing that annoys me.
They represent the music in a nice, even, clear and clean way.
Good soundstage and great detail retrieval are their assets.
Musical too, they keep my feet tapping.
I have two weeks in which I can return them, but I doubt if I will do that.
