Anyone in LA area want to help me test these cans?

Hey everyone I'm on the prowl for new cans namely:

-AKG 601 or 702
-Sennheiser 600 or 650
-possibly others. Maybe Grado RS1

I'm going to be playing them out of a Bantam DAc and a Starving Student Millet Hybrid (once I build them.) If anyone in the LA area has any of those cans and would let me test them out that would greatly appreciated. I can come to you, or I have room in my house to have a super mini-meet if that sounds fun, though keep in mind the meet on the 11th of July.

Also, if anyone knows of a store that sells headphones besides DXC in Culver City that would be appreciated.

there isnt much around here that sell headphone. there is west la music, but htye dont carry too many headphones. there is also guitar center, but they dont have any of the ones you want to listen either. best is a meet, i beleive there is one in july but im not too sure if the slots are all filled.

Guitar Center is a pain in the ass. They don't have the phones I want, they have crappy test music and who knows what it's plugged in to. (THey don't let you test out headphones w/ your own music)

I wanted to go to that meet but I'm busy that day *sadness* I'll check out West LA music

Well, I just sold the ones you wanted to hear and I'm sorry you can't make the meet.

However, there's a San Francisco meet in August and a San Diego meet in October. At the 7/11 meet, we're going to put our heads together and plan another LA meet later this year.

So there might not be something right away, but you will get to hear these sooner or later.

Another option is to just buy any one of these used. You'll be able to audition it as long as you want and then sell it for about what you paid if you don't like it.

Yep, a large meet of around 100 people or more with major vendor sponsorship (who will be paying for most of the event). We don't even have the date yet but I can tell you Donald North Audio and Ray Samuels Audio will be there. I also plan on having raffle prizes, if we can get them.

Uncle Erik- Alas, I'll be going back to school in September up in Tacoma, WA. Perhaps there'll be a meet up there? I have about a month for winter break, so winter is good for me :-)

I'd like new phones sooner rather than later. Mostly I'm impatient, but I'm getting bored of my Senn 280s. They're great if I'm out and need to block sound, but my ears have matured since I bought them (at least a year ago) and I'm ready for a new pair.

I may go with the used option and then trade around to see.
