Need some input regarding DAP

hi guys,
just want to know why everyone says that cowon D2/D2+ have a great SQ over ipod?
got a ipod classic 80gb here for almost 1.5 years and how to compare the SQ between these DAP, i mean my ipod vs D2+? (dont judge the capacity, i prefer SQ over capacity)

since i dont have any other DAP to play around so i cant justify which one is the best in SQ terms, the last player that i got only sony cd player and its already dead.

the things that only bugging me about ipod is the EQ, maybe it meant only for line out not headphone out, everytime i use EQ the sound become crappy, ugly whatever you say its bad.

if it true that cowon DOES have a great SQ, i wouldn't bother to change my ipod to cowon DAP.

Can't comment on the Classic vs Cowon but I can say that I've never found any EQ to be useful on portable sources or car cd head units. I always run them flat.

well because of that i rarely use any EQ setting on ipod even though i want a little bass response from my headphone tweaked from the EQ since i have a flat sounded headphone.
so back to topic, anyone have an idea about this?
