DO YOU HATE NICKELBACK? - Page 5

Hell yeah, hate 'em - and they're Canadian to boot.

Just to point out, for the sake of arguement - the nickelback you hear on the radio is typically not how most of the record sounds. they are alot heavier, they were told to tone down the screaming and lighten up the general sound by the record company. now obviously points against them for actually selling out and doing this, but they do have much heavier songs.

YouTube - Nickelback Live at SPAC - Dan Adair Drum Solo
a live drum solo (not saying this is amazing drumming by any means, just not what you would hear on the radio)

YouTube - Nickelback - Side Of A Bullet
one of there heavier songs, a tribute to dimebag darrell.

YouTube - Nickelback live singing Metallica's Sad But True

Youtube - Nickelback - The Four Horsemen (Metallica Live Cover)
Youtube - Nickelback - Cowboys from hell and seek and destroy
they also cover quite a bit of metallica, like this sad but true cover, and it isnt a bad cover to boot. (you will hardly recognize his voice, if you have just heard the ****ty radio songs)

now, this being said, nickelback is by far not my favourite band, give me pink floyd, dave matthews band and led zeppelin and i will be a happy camper, it just bugs me when bands are hated on when people have only heard the singles (which in nickelbacks case happens to be overproduced, overplayed ballads, catchy as they may be) so take away from this what you will, im not trying to start anything, i just like it when people know the full story

Nickelback is substanceless rock. It's not a genre I've ever liked. But where do I get the nerve to accuse it as substanceless? It's just a vibe I get, I usually pick up on when a song is sincere, or when a singer is sincere, or when a producer is trying to acheive something for other than profit purposes.....

Do I hate them? I wouldn't listen to them, but I spend about 5 minutes a year thinking about them, so I don't care enough to hate them. But if their music was inescapable, I would hate them. I don't know anyone who listens to them and I never hear their music.

All I know is when I'm telling someone about what I call "Junk Rock" and they ask for an example, Nickelback is always my first illustration. It's not that I hate them -- but if someone lists them as a band they enjoy, I take any musical suggestions they offer me with a shaker of salt.

I'm back reading this thread and I think some people are really uptight. I mean, I'm all for respecting other opinions and all, but come on, this stuff is hilarious.

Look at this photograph
Everytime I do it makes me laugh
How did our eyes get so red
And what the hell is on Joey's head

And this is where I grew up
I think the present owner fixed it up
I never knew we'd ever went without
The second floor is hard for sneaking out

And this is where I went to school
Most of the time had better things to do
Criminal record says I broke in twice
I must have done it half a dozen times

I wonder if it's too late
Should i go back and try to graduate
Life's better now then it was back then
If I was them I wouldn't let me in

Oh, oh, oh
Oh, god, I

Every memory of looking out the back door
I had the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It's hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye.
Every memory of walking out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was looking for
It's hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye.

Remember the old arcade
Blew every dollar that we ever made
The cops hated us hangin' out
They say somebody went and burned it down

We used to listen to the radio
And sing along with every song we know
We said someday we'd find out how it feels
To sing to more than just the steering wheel

Kim's the first girl I kissed
I was so nervous that I nearly missed
She's had a couple of kids since then
I haven't seen her since god knows when

Oh, oh, oh

I miss that town
I miss the faces
You can't erase
You can't replace it
I miss it now
I can't believe it
So hard to stay
Too hard to leave it

If I could I relive those days
I know the one thing that would never change

Every memory of looking out the back door
I had the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It's hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye.
Every memory of walking out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was looking for
It's hard to say it, time to say it
Goodbye, goodbye.

Look at this photograph
Everytime I do it makes me laugh
Everytime I do it makes me...

True Story:

A friend and I had a chance to meet them and we thought it'd be funny if walked in there with a bootleg CD and have them sign it. Then we got drunk and high and forgot the time and never went.

We just didn't care that much, I guess.
