I'm curious, are these as easily driven as the NE-7Ms or EP630s?

And does anyone know where on earth can one buy these other than from DPMega on eBay?

Not as easy as NE-7M or EP-630, but easy enough that no amp is needed.

For what I know, no one else has stock at the moment. ETA for new stock is around 2~3 weeks.

I just got wind that PL-50 has became available in China (possible from stock of the 2nd batch). If it is so, HK based sellers would probably get their share very soon as well.

Aesthetics are purely subjective, as is sound quality, but I would say they both look and sound very good.

The first european store has begun selling PL50 but going around 90 $
Are the PL50 worth it for so much overpricing?

hmm are they worth that much, id say yes but i would hold off and get them from non price gouging places, ant be long before the usual far east places have them up

i got mine for $55 and totally love it...pair it with my little dot mk1*LM4562 chip... the transformation is amazing!!
improved bass,mid, treble and wider soundstage.
i wonder if the transducer inside pl50 is beyerdynamic as the synergy with LM4562 chip is audiophiles bliss

just keeping this active in case anyone hears anything. (This is the first time i've been waiting for a headphone to be released - of course it is for one that seems to have delays for the mass release. )

I've been talking to an ebayer from HK who has received a shipment. He's promised to put them up in the next few days at a reasonable price ($65 last we talked). Of course I get the first demo pair for half price . Will post links if the PL50s actually come up.
