Yeah beware of MP4nation, I had to wait more than a month for mine. And they where missing tips too.

I'm getting to like my PL50 more and more. Gave them some burn in and tried the second biggest silicone tips. And now they're treating me with King Crimsons "In the Court of the Crimson King".

Thanks for the heads up I appreciate it. So where should I get them from?

+2 for mp4nation, been over a month and nothing has shown up...did you try focalprice?

I've heard some good stuff about dealperfect.com, and they've got most SoundMagic, including PL50. Never ordered from them myself though.

Dealperfect ran into trouble with paypal and are not accepting orders until they work out a new payment system (last I checked). I'd go with focalprice. Shipping is slow but consistent. I try to stay away from mp4nation lately.

Took over 60 days for delivery to Germany. PL50 are awesome IEMs anyway....Love them...

Wow. Two months is a long time, moreso, considering the rate at which new IEMs hit the market.

I've been considering the PL-50 but I would only buy from Asia if they could be delivered in two weeks or less to the UK.

Update for the record. First, they were delivered on OCT 30, a little over 30 days from when I ordered from mp4nation (didn't notice the delivery attempt notice at first).

Finally picked them up over the weekend. The fit and finish look great - nothing unusual at all. Came with the foam tips on them so I tried those first for the heck of it. Didn't get a good seal with those (as expected), but tried the medium silicon and get a good seal with those and they sound great. Using them w/ eq almost flat on my Sony A729 with the 'clear bass' bass boost on 1 (out of 3) and get enough bass for me.

Wish I could compare them to the Sony Ex-85 (or whatever it is that came with the player) since those sounded pretty good, but the wire broke inside the insulation at the player connection end, like has happened on other 'phones. My EQ settings were activated a lot more with those though, so that bodes well for the PL-50s.

Overall they are exactly what I was expecting: Very small (hardly even see them in the ear from the front), good sound, long enough cable to keep player in front pocket without extension, and NO microphonics! (cable over ear as designed).

Just worried about the cable connection to the pin at the player end, like with any 'phones, and hope it lasts (and why I won't get expensive headphones for portable use - I assume any cable will eventually fail with pocket use. Happened at least twice to me so far). Not sure if the L shaped connection is good or bad, but for now I am wrapping the cable down and around the player before coming out of my pocket to try to reduce the strain (headphone connection is at the bottom of the player, use in pocket upside down).

Anyone else using these with a Walkman? Just curious about what settings people are using. As noted up thread, these are very responsive to EQing.

I use these with my Cowon D2. No need for me to eq really, I just add some BBE+ and a little Mach3Bass. Quite happy with it.
They don't seal that well sometimes though. Hopefully the hybrids I ordered will fix that!

Also, the tips fit snug but are easy to get on and off (and yes you put them all the way down over the bump!).

I get a decent seal with the stock silicon tips (sometimes helps to push them in and then pull back a little, like w/other in-ear 'phones). I am curious to try the hybrids but since I use them in the city I actually don't mind having some leakage from the outside for safety's sake.

For those using the Sony hybrids, how is the seal with those? Is it much quieter than with the stock silicons? When you have them in with no music playing, can you still hear background noise fairly clearly? I know it's hard to describe sound, just wondering how much more of a seal it is compared to the stock silicone tips (assuming you can get a seal with those).

The stock foamies don't work for me (can't get seal with any of them), so I'd like to be able to get more seal for when plane/train travel.

Are there any tips other than the hybrids that fit? (double flange, foamies, etc.)

The seal with the Hybrids is great IMO and the fact that they come in four different sizes, while not ideal for value for money, means you'll likely find the right size. I couldn't get a good enough seal with the stock silicones but the two sizes of hybrids work great for me.

Other tips that fit are the VSonic $2 foamies. They're larger than stock foamies and not as soft.

Got mine coming...Hopefully i'm done, for now that is.
