Notebook Speakers--$100

What do you guys think are the best speakers for around 75-125 dollars for notebook computers?

I may not be well versed in computer speakers, but I am pretty sure that your price range is going to be a problem. Barring any suggestions that I am totally unaware of, I would save that and wait until you can afford maybe $200 and then you will have a couple of options.

Amazon.com: Swans S3W 2.0 T-Amp Powered Multimedia Speaker System: Electronics

For the $$? Best powered small stereo under $100. Not much bass but man do they sing and put out good detail in a tiny package. They are about the size of a oversized tennis ball and the amp is a digital t-amp built into a nice metal casing w/ a large volume knob. I am using mine at the beach on Target speaker stands on my 360 and my relatives are in disbelief at the sound quality. We just played Ncaa Football and the atmosphere sounded a lot like a real game.

Anything wrong with getting the Z-2300? They're excellent =D

Sorry if I completely missed your meaning of 'notebook speakers' :\

From my experience, Logitech speakers are all bass with extremely scooped out mids. Not a very balanced sound.

Are there portable Altec Lansing speakers? I own a 2.1 ch set for my PC, and they're very accurate and detailed considering their low price.

I also use speakers on my notebook. I have very nice speakers from Behringer. They're not the cheapest, good quality product and the sound is fine to my ears. I often listen to CDs or MP3s on my MSI Wind 100 and you can really turn up the volume, still sounds good. I would buy them again although I am sure there are better speakers around.

Weren't Swan M10's getting rave reviews everywhere a year or two ago? what ever happened to them?

Swan M10

Sold out right now but I think they should have them soon. I haven't personally heard these but I haven't read a bad thing about 'em yet.

Agreed. The best bang/buck ratio of any audio purchase was my $60 (new!) AL sat+sub 2-channel system. I've been using it since maybe 2002.

Only problem is very unbalanced (read: far too much bass, scooped out mids like Logitech speakers) sound, but EQ can help tremendously.

Swan M10 is the best choice.
