I was wondering if there is any kind of cables that I could use to modify my AKG.

I used Mogami 2534 Quad cable with good results, terminated at a Neutrik 1/4" plug.

For the adventuresome, you might want to try 4 strands of 26 guage magnetic oxide coated copper (MOCC) wires.
